Currencies: Euro stays near $ 1.41

Initially down against the dollar, the euro remains around its Friday evening at 1.41 dollar, currency traders wondering about the consequences for the Greek case against the Director of the IMF.
The announcement could cause concern that a crisis of governance within the institution even as Dominique Strauss-Kahn was expected in Brussels to discuss the issue of debt with the Greek EU officials.
The impact on the negotiations should be restricted, Dominique Strauss-Kahn was replaced at least temporarily, by his first deputy CEO, American John Lipsky.
"It is politically difficult for the IMF to help give a European country which has an austerity plan complies with the demands of the Fund. The pressure is more than the Germans at the IMF," said Will we at Aurel BGC.
The single currency fell back slightly against the Japanese currency, to 113.9 yen, while the dollar yen 80.8 rating.
Relative to other currencies contains the old, slightly ahead of the euro against the pound sterling at 0.872 pound but fell sharply against the Swiss franc at 1.253 francs.
