BP and Azerbaijanian Country Petroleum Company (SOCAR) announced today both sides structure have signed the production sharing agreement together on exploration and development the Caspian Sea Azerbaijan waters Schaff standard - Asi the graceful (Shafag-Asiman). This agreement sub-area located at Azerbaijan southeast capital Baku about 125 kilometer marine, the cover area 1100 square kilometers, the water depth 650-800 meters, the oil deposit depth 7000 meters, has developed before this never.
According to this 30 year production sharing agreement, BP the Caspian Sea explores the Limited company to take the work and SOCAR has this sub-area 50% rights and interests respectively.
BP is the Azerbaijanian petroleum natural gas domain biggest investor and the work company, simultaneously the Caspian Sea region is also the BP core strategy sub-area. BP chief executive officer Dyde sets up (Bob Dudley) to indicate at the signing ceremony that Azerbaijan already grew into the world scale oil gas producer country, and has the huge development potential.
